Court of law vs Court of Religion

I am speechless !!!

For all its booming economy and its shining new status in the world, incidents like this makes one wonder if all this proclaimed national success means anything at all !!!

Frankly, I have never heard such a whole of bull s**t being pronounced in the name of religion. I refuse to believe that any religion will have such senseless laws. All the senselessness is being injected by the interpretors or the so-called religious leaders who are supposed to be the enlightened ones to keep the religion alive and guide other lesser mortals. More often than not, these religious leaders only contribute in aggravating the exisiting problems rather than sorting things out. Which is a shame !!!!

Does she not have her hands full already to be now even branded as an adultress? Any woman in her right mind will definitely not committ adultery with a 70 year old man !!! Give her a break !!!

And as if all this was not enough, one of our dear Bollywood producer is even planning to make a movie out of this !!!

Can this get any worse??

Hello Rajni,

Any person in India who criticizes the barbaric aspects of Islam, is deemed to be prejudiced. It is stories like these that make it absolutely important that we have a Uniform Civil Code and no separate laws for Muslims. If they want to live in India, they must obey "Indian" law and not the Sharia. This is a shame.

R,

To prove my point that modern Islam is in a tailspin of perpetual regression, plz see this article :

Another gem for your reading pleasure. The "religion of peace" rocks, when it comes to its treatment of women:

Sriraj,

I do not want to sound like a feminist (because I am not), but it is the women who have been more at the end of these "interpretations of religion" by the leaders of the religion. Unfortunately, it is not only Islam but other religions as well.

Yet another angle to the story.

Is the government right in forcing people not to follow their religion?

Hello Rajni,

According to the Quran, the wife's role is to serve. As such the muslim male feels she is a servant.Well the servant has no rights. She can never be right. It is the muslim male who is always right whatever the logic maybe.

But the present scenerio is changing, the supreme court has brought a lot of changes to give justice to muslim women and her child. The muslim male cant just walk away.

Because of her culture, the muslim women is conditioned to tolerate. But to what extend?
The muslim male hasnt learnt to respect her yet..
